Samoan Tsunami

On Wednesday, 30th September 2009 (NZT), the south coast of Upolu, American Samoa and Niuatoputapu, suffered tremendous devastation due the effects of a massive earthquake and subsequent tsunami.

Since then, Reef Shipping has been at the forefront of the relief effort, co coordinating the shipping response and working closely with the local Pacific Island community and the Governments of Samoa and New Zealand in offering three 20' container shipments free of charge to be made available to the families of the worst hit villages.  

Reef is very much involved with the Samoa Tsunami 2009 appeal committee. We are working hard co ordinate the efforts so that the donated goods that are sent on our ship, and the funds that are raised, end up directly where the need is most.
